Kliima ei ole hädaolukorras
Ülemaailmne 500 teadlaste
ja spetsialistide võrk on koostanud käesoleva kiireloomulise
sõnumi. Kliimateadus peaks olema vähem poliitiline, samas
kliimapoliitika eesmärk peaks olema rohkem teaduslik. Teadlased
peaksid avalikult tegelema oma globaalse soojenemise prognooside
ebakindluse ja liialdustega, samas poliitikud peaksid kiretult lootma
sellest reaalset kasu samuti kujutama kliimamuutustega kohanemise
kulusid ja tegelike kulude kujuteldavat leevendamist.
Looduslik
samuti inimtegevuse põhjustatud soojenemine
Geoloogilisest
arhiivist selgub, et Maa kliimas on looduslikud külma ja sooja
faasid olnud mitmekesised nii kaua kui planeet on olemas olnud. Väike
jääaeg lõppes alles 1850 a. Seega ei ole üllatav, et meil on nüüd
tekkinud soojenemise periood. Ainult väga vähestes
eelretsenseeritud dokumentides on mindud isegi niikaugele, et öelda,
et viimane soojenemine on peamiselt inimtekkeline ...
Soojenemine
on palju aeglasem kui ennustatud
Maailm
on soojenenud vähem kui poole võrra algselt prognoositud määrast
ja vähem kui pool määra inimtekkelise võrgu väljaheidete ja
kiirguslevi tasakaalu põhjal eeldatavast. See ütleb meile, et me
oleme kaugel kliimamuutuse mõistmisest.
Kliimapoliitika
tugineb ebapiisavatele mudelitele
Kliima
mudelitel on palju puudusi ja ei ole poliitilise vahendina kaugeltki
usutavad. Veelgi enam, nad tõenäoliselt liialdadavad
kasvuhoonegaaside, nagu CO 2, efekti mõjuga. Lisaks on nad
ignoreerinud fakti, et atmosfääri rikastamine CO 2-ga on kasulik.
CO
2 on taimede toit, elu alus kogu Maal
CO 2 ei
ole saasteaine. See on oluline kogu eluks Maal. Fotosüntees on
õnnistus. Rohkem CO 2 on kasulik loodusele, Maa muutub rohelisemaks:
täiendava CO 2 õhku paiskumine on edendanud globaalset taimset
biomassi. Samuti on see hea põllumajandusele, suurendades
põllukultuuride saagikust kogu maailmas.
Globaalne
soojenemine ei ole loodusõnnetusi suurendanud
Ei ole
statistilist tõendusmaterjali, et globaalne soojenemine on
süvendanud orkaanide, üleujutuste, põudade ja säherduste
loodusõnnetuste teket või muutnud neid sagedasteks. Kuid CO 2
leevendamise meetmed on kahjulikud, sest need on kulukad. Näiteks
tuuleturbiinid tapavad linde ja putukaid ja õlipalmiistandused
hävitavad vihmametsade bioloogilise mitmekesisuse.
Kliimapoliitika
peab järgima teaduslikku ja majanduslikku olukorda
Kliima
ei ole hädaolukorras. Seetõttu ei ole põhjust paanikaks ja
ärevuseks. Me oleme tugevalt vastu kahjulikule ja ebareaalsele
nullilähedasele CO 2 poliitikale, mida on pakutud 2050. aastaks. Kui tekivad
paremad meetodid on meil piisavalt aega, et kajastada ja kohaneda.
Rahvusvahelise poliitika eesmärgiks peaks olema tagada kogu aeg
usaldusväärne ja taskukohane energia ja seda kogu maailmas. (Eestil kuluks selleks 30 aasta jooksul 17,3 miljardit eurot)
Meie
soovitus poliitilistele juhtidele on, et teadus peaks oluliselt
paremini püüdma mõista kliimasüsteemi, samas poliitikas tuleks
keskenduda tõestustel põhinevatele prioriteetsetele kohanemise
strateegiatele ja taskukohastele tehnoloogiatele minimeerimaks kliima
kahjusid.
